About Pinoy C.A.R.E.S.
During the New Zealand lockdown in March 2020, many of Filipinos were reaching out to us for support which made us decide to form Pinoy CARES and became an Incorporated Society in June 2020. Today, with dedicated and passionate volunteers, our group is delivering programmes and services to support the Filipino community and help Filipino migrants settle in New Zealand.
Similar to the word “kiwi’ representing New Zealanders, is a colloquial term meaning Filipino and is an acronym for Culture, Arts, Religion/Recreation, Education/Events, Services/Sports; in which we base our projects, events and programmes on.

COVID-19 Filipino Communication and Information Campaign
NZ government has always taken the view that when it comes to COVID-19, we cannot be too careful. Going hard and starting early to stop the virus is most significant now that we are dealing with a more infectious Omicron variant.
As a community that does not only think of its known, Pinoy C.A.R.E.S Canterbury has always been actively involved in helping in the government’s information dissemination, which is our way of being part of the solution to this global pandemic.
